Coronavirus – Interrupted Services

Please be aware that we are running limited services during this time – Our People to Places office remains open for essential journeys only.

Our Community Transport Service helps individuals and community groups who are residents within the Royal Borough, to travel both short and longer distances. If you are looking for some assistance to get to a hospital appointment or need transport for a trip to the shops, People to Places is here to help.

About Community Transport

Once you are a member of People to Places you will be able to access our Dial-a-Ride service. We operate daily and all you need to do to book is call our Booking line on 01628 587920. We will always try to accommodate last minute bookings, however we cannot guarantee we will have availability. We advise our journeys should be books with a week’s notice where possible.

Great news, a carer or an assistance dog accompanying a member will travel free of charge too. Plus with enough notice we can even arrange evening and weekend bookings too.

Do you need a little bit of help with your shopping or  getting to your hospital appointment?

When travelling with People to Places, a carer or family member can travel with you for no extra charge.  However, we realise that sometimes you may not have a carer who is able to be with you.  Our drivers are only able to take you where you need to go and to get you home safely. However, we have volunteers who are happy to accompany and help you around the shops, or to wait with you at a hospital clinic and help you back to our bus after your appointment.

If this is something that you would like to consider, we will need as much notice as possible to arrange for a chaperone and a driver to be available.  In the case of a shopping trip if you can be flexible with dates and times that helps us greatly.

TAPS Service

The TAPS service consists of a “travel pot” of £100 worth of journeys with People to Places. TAPs is paid for by the Local Authority and we provide the transport from this pot. Meaning an eligible individual can have £100 worth of free transport within a 12 month period and it can be renewed each year too.

The scheme is intended for permanent residents of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead who are unable to use conventional public transport because of their disability and who do not drive.

TAPS provides a perfect introduction to our Dial-a-Ride service at no expense or commitment to you! When completing your application form, indicate if you wish to apply for TAPS and we will happily process it.

You must meet the following criteria:

          ~ Be an RBWM resident

~ Be unable to use public transport due to disability, illness, vulnerability or social isolation

~ Not have a council issued bus pass (or be willing to surrender this)

It was really fun getting to know the team during the project. They were all helpful in answering my questions and made me feel completely at ease. The design ended up being twice as good as I could have ever envisioned!

I'm wondering why I never contacted these guys sooner! Seriously, they all have commendable talent in their respective fields and knocked my concept out of the ballpark. Thanks for an amazing experience!
