Our Community Transport and Dial-a-Ride Service helps individuals and community groups who are residents within the Royal Borough, to travel both short and longer distances. If you are looking for some assistance to get to a hospital appointment or need transport for a trip to the shops, People to Places is here to help.
About Community Transport
Once you are a member of People to Places you will be able to access our Dial-a-Ride service. We operate daily and all you need to do to book is call our Booking line on 01628 587920. We will always try to accommodate last minute bookings, however we cannot guarantee there will be availability.
Great news, a carer or an assistance dog accompanying a member will travel free of charge too. Plus with enough notice we can even arrange evening and weekend bookings too.
Do you need a little bit of help with your shopping or getting to your hospital appointment?
When travelling with People to Places, a carer or family member can travel with you for no extra charge. However, we realise that sometimes you may not have a carer who is able to be with you. Our drivers are only able to take you where you need to go and to get you home safely, but we have volunteers who are happy to accompany and assist you even more. They can even go around the shops, or wait with you at a hospital clinic and help you back to our bus after your appointment.
The TAPS service consists of a “travel pot” of £100 worth of journeys, paid for by the Local Authority with transport provided through People to Places. This means an eligible individual can have £100 worth of free transport within a 12 month period. It can also be renewed each year too.
The scheme is intended for permanent residents of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead who are unable to use conventional public transport because of their disability and who do not drive.
TAPS provides a perfect introduction to our Dial-a-Ride service at no expense or commitment to you! When completing your application form, just indicate if you wish to apply for TAPS on the form and we will happily process it from there.
