Shopmobility Maidenheadcommunity transport Maidenheadmobility scooters parked outside the maidenhead shopmobility office

Our Chair of Trustees, Jane Basley, spent a morning out and about last week on one of our buses with People to Places’ longest serving driver Glen. Jane saw for herself what People to Places’ does on the ground and how much our services support our local community.

Our Correspondent in the Field

“Today, I had an excellent day out “on the buses” with Glen at People to Places. Glen is one of their main drivers and I accompanied him whilst he picked up people from their homes and took them out for appointments and to social gatherings. We went to Maidenhead Library, Windsor, (including visiting Windsor Shopmobility), Cookham and Henley to help those who needed transport. We took them there, and we brought them back home. I also saw how our drivers are so important in forming People to Places’ relationship with its members. They and our Shopmobility staff and volunteers are the public face of the organisation and their warmth and generosity is invaluable to the success of the charity.

The work that People to Places does is vital to so many in the Royal Borough.

Their primary goal is to help as many people as possible. To do this they need your help and support – it could be as simple as sharing their Facebook posts to volunteering your time. Any help and support is greatly appreciated!

If you feel that you can spare some time to help them and work with people in our community, please visit their website and make contact with them.”
